Greene sues over sacking

The former finance director of Hanover International is suing the hotels group over his sacking in April.

David Greene is claiming wrongful dismissal on the grounds that he has done nothing to warrant being sacked, and unfair dismissal because he allegedly received no notice. He says he is owed around £100,000, his yearly salary, in lost earnings.

Peter Eyles, chairman of Hanover, said: "This is something that we are going to contend very heavily. It is something we would rather hadn't become public."
