Heavyweights lend support to Hospitality Action charity

Industry charity Hospitality Action's annual ball raised more than £90,000 from 750 guests last week.

It was announced at the event that Forte Hotels, which had chosen Hospitality Action as its charity of the year, had raised £250,000 over the 12 months. Among those honoured at the Grosvenor House hotel was Jim Stephenson, the regional director of Forte, who oversaw the group's fundraising. He was given the "Made it Happen" award.

Thistle Hotels said that it has adopted Hospitality Action as its charity of the year for 2001. Contract caterer Aramark has also named the charity as its charity of the year for 2000/2001, as has the Metropolitan police catering service.
