Heineken's Star Pubs and Bars to trial mobile ordering
Star Pubs and Bars, the leased pub division of Heineken UK, is trialling mobile ordering at selected sites before a full national roll-out.
During April 40 sites will trial the Orderella mobile ordering app before roll-out to the Star Pubs and Bars' 1,200 strong estate.
Guests visiting the trial sites will be able to order drinks through their phone, which are then delivered to their table.
Payments are made through Paythru for the system which, Orderella said, can speed transactions by up to 90 seconds compared to conventional card payments.
Paul Daly, retail marketing manager for Star Pubs and Bars, said: "We're delighted to be trialling the Orderella app at 40 of our pubs. Our mission is to offer pub customers the very best pub experience in their area and by offering the latest app technology to our existing customers, we believe that we are further enhancing their experience as they will be able to spend more time socialising and less time queuing."
Orderella chief executive Dennis Collet added: "The trial of Orderella will mean that customers can avoid queuing. It also offers huge benefits to the operator, allowing them to give their customers a better level of service and increase staff efficiency."
