Customs investigators found that Lesley Kay Dykes, 49, of Aberdour, Fife , had evaded paying VAT on takings for a hotel business she ran near Inverness.

She was sentenced at Inverness Sheriff Court today after pleading guilty to evading £121,077 in VAT between March 1993 and October 1998 the hotel.

A confiscation order for the amount has now been issued.
