Hotels form consortium in Cotswolds

NINETEEN independent hotels in the Cotswolds have linked up in a marketing consortium.

The consortium, Cotswolds Finest Hotels, is promoting itself through a brochure and a Web site, with each member also recommending a local visitor attraction.

Chairman Somerset Moore said: "Our industry is so full of people who fight each other. They form hotel associations and proceed to back-bite and bitch. But Cotswolds Finest Hotels is genuinely friendly, not only to the public, but amongst ourselves."

When they are fully booked, the hotels will refer customers to fellow members.

Participants include the Lygon Arms in Broadway, the Lords of the Manor in Upper Slaughter and the Old Bell at Malmesbury. For details, see www.cotswolds finesthotels.com
