Cuban festival

A taste of Cuba is coming to London's Hilton on Park Lane at the end of the month when the hotel hosts a 12-day cultural festival showcasing the Caribbean island. Held in association with the Embassy of Cuba, the Cuban Cultural Festival includes a daily buffet in the hotel's Park Brasserie serving traditional Cuban food; and a three-course dinner menu in the Windows restaurant created by the hotel's executive chef, Anthony Marshall, and his colleague Jacques Rolancy, head chef of Windows. Music, cigars and rum, naturally, will also be showcased in the festival which runs from 31 October until 2 November. Further information on 020 7208 4005.

La Porte des Indes

London's gloriously theatrical La Porte des Indes restaurant celebrates the launch of its autumn menu with a food festival running currently until 17 November. Featured in Les Folies du Chef (a reference to head chef Mehernosh Mody) are dishes centred on a variety of fish, duck and, in particular, game. These include quail biryani (the bird is marinated in dill, coriander and pomegranate seeds before being cooked) and kohe kashmiri - wild boar with smoked tamarind and green herbs.
