Cm renamed

Tadcaster-based pub management company the CM Group has changed its name to Commer Group, after its Commer Inns estate of tenanted pubs. Its managed house division, Magnet Management Services, becomes Commer Management.

Cream shield

Cornish clotted cream has won protection against imitation throughout the European Union, despite objections from the French who feared it could restrict the sale of dairy products from Brittany's Corouaille area. The protected status means only clotted cream made in Cornwall can carry the name.

Roebuck a fellow

John Roebuck, managing director of Etrop Grange hotel near Manchester Airport, has been elected a Fellow of the HCIMA.

Starring rolls

Most women would rather be wined and dined by their partner than by a Hollywood star, according to the Durex Summer Sex Survey. While 26% of females opted for their other half (against just 18% of men), only 9% picked a star.
