Bass man on bail
A Bass manager charged with stealing almost £23,000 from one of its pubs in Victoria, London, was bailed until 25 August at the capital's Horseferry Road Court last week. Ayr-born Austin McGuire, 41, took over the running of the Coach and Horses pub in Willow Place this April when it reopened after being gutted by a fire. McGuire, who was sacked in June, has been charged with stealing £22,984.81.
Waiter warned
A fast-food waiter has been warned by Horseferry Road Court that he could face jail after he pleaded guilty to stealing £985 from his Pizza Hut bosses with a stolen credit card. Hussain Shivji, 28, was bailed last week until 25 August for pre-sentence reports, after a magistrate asked for social reports.
Design deadline
