Independents to get a new marketing group

A marketing group covering more than 350 independent hotels will be launched at World Travel Market next month.

The Circle, which broke away from the Logis Group early this year, has teamed up with another two groups to create Independent Hospitality Marketing. Ashley Courtenay, which has 150 hotels, and the Wayfarer Inns, with 44 properties, have joined with the Circle. The reservations office will be in Oxford.

The alliance already holds contracts worth more than £1m.

"We feature good-quality, two-star independent hotels," said David Horsley, director of the Circle and Independent Hospitality Marketing. "Since Circle has been established we have received lots of calls from interested parties. They have until 14 November to register."
