What business is it in? Pubs, clubs and restaurants.
What brands does it operate? Waxy O'Connor's and the Rainforest Café in London's Shaftesbury Avenue are its best-known brands. It also runs pubs and clubs across London and the South-east.
What's its form?
A private company established in 1973, it has annual turnover of £25m, 16 units and about 500 staff.
Where is its head office and area of operation? Although the majority of its properties are in the South-east and London area, the company also runs Waxy O'Connor's pubs in Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham.
What sort of employer is it? The company claims to have been one of the first Investors in People recipients in the sector, picking up the award in 1994. It runs tailored training and a residential management training course. A number of the company's unit managers made the most of it and worked their way up from bar positions.
How does the future look? The company's most recent opening was the Terraces Bar & Grill last summer, which overlooks the Brighton seafront. Glendola is planning a number of openings this year but won't reveal exactly where yet.
