Intertain plans Comedy Central live shows at Highlight bars

Entertainment and bar operator Intertain has unveiled a collaboration with broadcaster Comedy Central to present a series of live comedy evenings throughout the Christmas season in its Highlight bars.

The 169 shows, which will be called "Comedy Central Live at Highlight", launch on Friday 26 November and run for five weeks at all 10 Highlight venues across the UK. To round off the Comedy Central Live run, the final shows will be New Year's Eve specials.

The partnership comes following two pilot shows, "Comedy Central Live @ highlight", earlier this year.

Shows will also include a festive twist with a traditional roast - or vegetarian option - drinks and an after-show Christmas party.

John Leslie, chief executive of Intertain, said: "Comedy Central is one of the most high profile, widely respected comedy channels in the world, so I'm thrilled that we can bring a little Comedy Central magic to our customers' Christmas parties."

Intertain's Highlight venues came into being after Regent Inns, which previously operated the sites under the Jongleurs brands, went into administration at the end of 2009.
