Investment drive by Country Club

Country Club Hotel Group, a first-time exhibitor at World Travel Market, unveiled plans to invest £5.5m in three of its resort properties.

The biggest project is at the Dalmahoy Hotel, near Edinburgh, where £2.5m is being spent on adding a 36-bedroom block to the property's existing 115 rooms.

The capacity of the Dalmahoy's conference suite is also being doubled.

At St Pierre Hotel at Chepstow, Gwent, the leisure facilities are about to undergo a £1m upgrade, while a £2m investment is planned for early next year at Goodwood Park Hotel in West Sussex.

The company's budget Travel Inn brand is also seeing investment. Two new 60-bedroom hotels are due to open in York and Sheffield in 1995, both with their own integrated Potters restaurant and bar.
