Pub operator JD Wetherspoon is set to open eight new pubs in July.

The company said it would invest more than £12m on the new sites and creating 400 full and part-time jobs.

The pubs are located in Cardiff, Cramlington, Aldridge, Lowestoft, Leek, Bideford, Bolsover and Honiton.

JD Wetherspoon Chairman Tim Martin said: "We are very pleased to be opening eight new pubs and creating so many jobs in one month.

"Our pubs continue to prove popular and it is especially rewarding to be opening outlets in a number of areas where we are not yet represented."
