Julia Edmonds moves up to MD as Lexington shuffles top team
Contract caterer Lexington has installed former sales and marketing director Julia Edmonds as its new managing director, following a major boardroom reshuffle.
Edmonds, who has worked for the company since 2007, replaces founder Mike Sunley who takes over the post of chief executive. Meanwhile chief executive and chairman Tim West relinquishes his responsibilities as chief executive but remains as chairman.
Co-founders and board directors Rachael Lindner and Katharine Lewis remain in charge of the caterer's operations while chef director Robert Kirby will continue to lead the company's food development and chef brigade.
Lexington, which started trading in 2002, said the top-level changes had been made to ensure that the company was prepared for an upswing in the economy, as well as in the interests of good corporate governance.
Edmonds was chosen for the job of managing director after she helped to secure over 20 new contracts within three years, which saw the firm increase its annual turnover to £20m and swell its ranks to over 200 people.
Commenting on her appointment, Edmonds said: "I'm really looking forward to leading Lexington as we make the most of the new opportunities that lie ahead of us by continuing to exceed client expectations in the delivery of exciting and delicious food and in turn providing our people with the most phenomenal career opportunities."
Sunley added: "I know that we couldn't have a safer pair of hands to manage our business as we go on to establish beyond doubt that Lexington is the most in-demand contract caterer for clients serious about food across London and the South-east."
