Jurys Doyle hits new half-year profits high

Jurys Doyle, the Irish-based hotel group, saw a 64% rise in pre-tax profits to €27.83m (£17.45m) for the six months ended 31 October 1999. Turnover rose 97% to €109.5m (£68.63m).

The massive jump was the result of Jurys' acquisition of the Doyle Hotel Group in May last year. Buoyant market conditions in both Britain and Ireland helped the performance, and trading remained strong during November and December, the company said.
