Jurys looks to autumn result

Irish hotel group Jurys Doyle is pinning its hopes on buoyant occupancy levels in September and October to bolster half-year trading results.

The group, which reported a drop in full-year profits in July, expects stronger trading in these two key months, despite reporting reduced business, particularly from the USA in its Dublin and London hotels in recent months. However, its five-star Berkeley Court and Westbury hotels in Dublin have performed strongly.

Chairman Walter Beatty, who was appointed to the board in 1972, retires at the end of August. He is to be replaced by Richard Hooper, a former director of the Investment Bank of Ireland.
