Kerry eaterie to stay open during winter

SUMMER'S late arrival has prompted a seafood restaurant in Dingle, County Kerry, to keep open throughout the winter in order to claw back lost profits.

The Waterside Café, run by French couple Michel and Cathy Chauvet, has suffered along with many other tourist businesses because only half the usual number of visitors have arrived in Kerry this summer.

The Chauvets believe that enough local people will use the restaurant during the winter months to make it viable.
