Laurel Pub Company completes restructuring

Laurel Pub Company has completed the restructuring of its senior management team with a new appointment.

Steve Rogers has joined the company as managing director of Ha!Ha! Bar & Canteen.

He was most recently operations director at Spirit's Old Orleans restaurant chain, which was sold to Regent Inns in August.

New boss Paul Symonds announced in September that Laurel would be reorganising into three operating divisions: Pubs and bars; Slug & Lettuce and Ha!Ha! Bar & Canteen.

At the time of the announcement Spirit executive Toby Smith joined Laurel to head up Pubs and Bars while Mary Sharp became managing director of Slug & Lettuce.

Laurel has also said its chief financial officer Steve Brown will be leaving the company in January 2007 for personal reasons.

His replacement is Chris Keen, who will join the company next month as part of a hand over period.

Keen was Spirit Group's finance director after Punch Taverns takeover in January of this year. He originally joined Spirit in May 2004 as director of financial planning and analysis.
