LET'S GO ROUND THE VEND

AN ambitious programme of vending machine refurbishment has been initiated by the NAAFI, the welfare service for members of the armed forces. The work was carried out by XL Leisure UK (a NAAFI division) in close liaison with vending machine manufacturer Crane National Vendors and Nebrak, which was responsible for designing complete refreshment centre housings and building-in the machines.

A typical example of one of the installations was on the Royal Navy's shore-based training facility at HMS Sultan. The refurbishment programme was undertaken with the help of Strategic Services. Each vending area now has a Euro drinks beverage machine, a Snack Centre 1, a Refreshment Centre 4 and a FoodCenter, all supplied by Crane, plus a microwave oven.
