Lindley scores in Sheffield
Banqueting facilities for up to 400 guests, two fast food outlets and catered executive boxes for 350 spectators will be included in a new stand at Sheffield United Football Club opening at the end of this month.
The development should take turnover of the club's catering contract - won by Staffordshire-based Lindley Catering this summer - to about £1.3m a year. Catering at the ground was previously provided by a local contractor.
Lindley Catering's managing director, Paul Crowton, said the five-year duration of the new, concession-based deal reflected the investment by his firm in the new catering facilities.
The club has plans to open a themed sports bar at the ground, Mr Crowton added.
Lindley Catering holds contracts with 23 football clubs, as well as at the Trent Bridge cricket ground, Nottingham, and other venues including theatres and leisure centres. Turnover on catering stands at about £12m a year.
