Liverpool One to host UK's first complete ice bar this winter
Liverpool One is to host the UK's first complete ice bar this winter, made entirely from ice.
The shopping centre will run the ice bar from 7 November to 13 January, which will be made up of a crystal sculpture ice, including the bar, tables and chairs.
Created by Ice Box, a team of artists also responsible for the London Ice Sculpting Festival, the bar will be operated by hospitality specialists KRO. Visitors will only be able to enter it for a maximum of 30 minutes.
Commenting on the opening of the first real ice bar in the UK, Miles Dunnett, head of asset management, Grosvenor Liverpool Fund, said: "Over the past four years, Liverpool One has established a reputation as the place to go in the North West for Christmas shopping. A key part of its success is the quality and originality of our Christmas offer for visitors. The ice bar takes things to a new level, bringing to Liverpool ONE something that has never been seen before in the UK."
Philip Hughes, creative head, Ice Box, added: "The Ice Box team is very excited to be bringing the UK's first real ice bar to Liverpool One. We see this as the first of many, but could not have chosen a better location for our launch."
