Local shop owners set to run neighbourhood pub
Three brothers who run a convenience store in Hounslow have taken on their neighbouring pub and added an Indian element to its traditional menu.
The Karavadra brothers signed up for the Bulstrode, Lampton Road when it became available as part of Punch Taverns's programme of converting 750 managed outlets to leases.
Lakan Karavadra, co-licensee with brothers Vijay and Kash, said: "Once you've run a varied retail business such as a convenience store, operating a pub is relatively straightforward, as long as you have the passion."
John Price, lettings managers at Punch, said: "The Bulstrode is one of many sites which are exciting prospects for anyone who has ever dreamed of running their own leasehold pub."
"Taking on a pub is accessible to everyone from existing small business owners to those looking for a complete career change," he added.
