Longhirst Hall joins Redefine BDL Hotels portfolio

Expansion of Redefine BDL Hotels continues apace with the signing of a contract to manage the 77-bedroom Longhirst Hall hotel and conference centre near Morpeth, Northumberland.

Located within a 75-acre estate, the Georgian-built hotel includes 25 conference rooms and a spa.

Stephen Cowell, owner and developer of Longhirst, said he has been looking to team up with a management company for some time to help take the business forward. "I am convinced Redefine BDL have the right approach for owners such as myself," he explained.

Stewart Campbell, managing director of Redefine BDL Hotels, added: "We are very happy to welcome Longhirst Hall to our expanding portfolio and we remain firmly on track to achieve our goal of 100 hotels under management by 2016.

"I'm confident this fantastic venue, affording both superb conferencing and wedding facilities, will be a strong asset to our estate and compliments our range of private label hotels."

Redefine BDL Hotels, which currently operates 60 properties under management contracts and long-term leases in the UK, South Africa and Liberia, has secured four new contracts since May when the company was formed following the merger of Redefine Hotels and BDL Management. Alongside running independent properties, it also operates a number of branded hotels under franchise agreements with InterContinental Hotels Group, Hilton Worldwide, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Wyndham Hotel Group Resorts and Best Western.
