Marco Pierre White buys six Maypole Group pubs

Marco Pierre White has been confirmed as the buyer of all six pubs formerly owned by the Maypole Group, which fell into administration in October last year.

The joint administrators, Simon Bower and Bruce Mackay from Baker Tilly, have traded the businesses since their appointment.

Marco Pierre White was one of 20 parties that expressed an interest in the group.

Commenting on the news, Bower said: "This is a fantastic outcome, which secures the continuity of the Group. Throughout this process, the continuous support and encouragement of the loyal staff and customers has ensured we have been able to keep trading. We wish the Maypole team the very best for the future."

The pub/hotels are spread across Norfolk, Suffolk and Wiltshire.
