Marco Pierre White opens Sussex pub

Marco Pierre White](http://www.caterersearch.com/Topics/1595/marco-pierre-white.html) has opened a new pub in East Sussex under the Wheeler's brand.

The chef has teamed up with pub company Powder Train, which opened the Chequers pub in Maresfield near Uckfield under his name.

White re-launched Wheeler's of St James in London last year. The company plans a series of openings under the brand, which could include up to 14 pubs over the next several years.

The 18th century Chequers pub, which can handle 100 covers, underwent an extensive £150,000 refurbishment earlier this year.
