MasterChef: The Professionals winner Keri Moss opens first restaurant, at Selfridges

MasterChef: The Professionals 2012 joint winner Keri Moss has opened her first restaurant, the Corner Restaurant and Champagne Bar, at London's Selfridges.

Moss was joint winner with Anton Piotrowski in the final of the BBC1 show, which aired in December last year.

The chef continues to work for Smart Hospitality, which catered for the Olympic Hospitality Centre during London 2012, but will now be based on the second floor of the department store.

The restaurant will offer a frequently changing menu, with the emphasis on seasonal cooking using British ingredients. Dishes will include mackerel tartare, crisp poached quails' eggs, apple, pancetta wafers; and a dessert of goats' cheese parfait, blackberry puree, pear salad and candied quinoa. Dishes start from £7.50 and larger plates from £15.

Moss told the Evening Standard: "I always had it in my mind that I wanted to open a restaurant. Michel [Roux Jnr] said it's a great project to start with and hopefully in a year's time I'll be able to branch out on my own, he's 100% behind it."

Brian Hannon, Selfridges food and restaurants director, said: "We are really excited to be partnering with Keri Moss on her first restaurant opening since becoming the joint winner of MasterChef 2012. We expect it will be a huge success and we look forward to working with her closely."
