MasterChef winner Natalie Coleman to take over the Dissenting Academy

MasterChef 2013 winner Natalie Coleman is to take over the Dissenting Academy pub in north London.

Appointed as general manager and head chef, Coleman (pictured) will run the Newington Green pub from the kitchen.

Coleman will be serving the Scotch egg that secured the MasterChef accolade as a starter, while mains will include slow-roasted pork shoulder, lentils and salsa verde, alongside pub classics such as burgers and fish and chips.

She said: "I want to make The Dissenting Academy a social hub for the area. I am planning more entertainment and creating a menu that will appeal to everyone."

The pub takes its name from the dissenting academies of its Newington Green home, and aims to host a line-up of unusual and non-conformist artists, musicians and DJs including Coleman herself.
