Craft brewer Meantime has launched a pop-up bar concept, constructed from shipping containers, at Greenwich's Peninsula Square.
The BeerBox will serve Meantime's core range along with an exclusive Peninsula Pale Ale, dispensed using its Brewery Fresh tank beer concept. It will be open all year round with a roof terrace above bar level, on which indie rockers We Are Scientists played at the launch.
Meantime chief executive Nick Miller said: "Meantime aims to innovate and pioneer with its craft beers and have looked at many options to bring its range to the drinker. With this in mind, we wanted to create an interesting space and experience for our drinkers where they can enjoy modern craft beer in an entertaining environment.
"The BeerBox provides us with the opportunity to educate consumers about our craft in a fantastic location just minutes from our brewery."
Meantime negotiated the deal with Knight Dragon, the development firm responsible for rejuvenating Greenwich Peninsula, for the site next to Greenwich tube.
Knight Dragon chief executive Richard Margree said: "It was important for us to partner with an exciting brand, with local roots and a unique product offering. Meantime have been going from strength to strength and they have come up with something fresh and innovative for this prominent space."
