Miller Howe deal is close to closure
Miller Howe, the Lake District country house hotel and restaurant, is close to finding a buyer.
Agent Christie & Co said that it had received a "substantial" number of offers for the Windermere property and was in the process of deciding which to accept.
Interest has come both from private hoteliers and from property investors, which would install someone else to run the business.
The asking price is understood to be between £750,000 and £850,000.
Another well-known restaurant up for sale, Bradford's Restaurant Nineteen, is still waiting to exchange contracts with its would-be buyer.
Co-owner Robert Barbour declined to name the purchaser until the deal was completed, but said it was an individual restaurateur with interests in London and the North of England.
The asking price for Restaurant Nineteen was £225,000.
