My Kinda Town, the London-based restaurant group, this week opened what is claimed to be the world's first Coca-Cola Diner at a retail development in Oberhausen, Germany.

News of the management contract came as the group announced pre-tax profits for the half-year to 1 January 1995 of £1.33m - up from £676,000 in the same period the previous year. Turnover jumped from £11.3m to £12.7m.

The group has recently spent up to £2.7m buying three restaurants in London and continues to look at other opportunities for acquisition and international franchising.

In recent months, franchises have opened in York, Cyprus, Braunschweig in Germany, Beirut and Valencia.
