Nairn brothers plan Glasgow restaurant

Scottish chef Nick Nairn is to open a restaurant in Glasgow, in November.

He and his brother Christopher have bought a five-storey Georgian town house, which is currently being renovated.

The building will house a 90-seat restaurant, Nairns, which will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Nairn anticipates average spend to be about £17 for lunch and £25 for dinner. The restaurant will also have four suites with a rack rate of £90.

"It's the kind of restaurant Glasgow has been crying out for. Good food at affordable prices," said Nairn.

The restaurant is the blueprint for similar ventures in Scotland including a café-bar called Nick's Café. Nairn is currently negotiating to secure grants for further expansion.

Despite rumours that Nairn has split from his wife, he has retained his interest in their Aberfoyle restaurant, Braeval, and will still work there one day a week once Nairns opens.
