New general manager appointed at Kings Head hotel in Cirencester
The Vineyard Group has appointed Sally Russell as the new general manager of the Kings Head hotel in Cirencester.
Russell takes over from previous general manager Stephen Mannock, who has moved to Brunei as operations director at The Empire Hotel and Country Club.
She previously worked for the hotel management firm having held the role of deputy general manager and then manager at the Donnington Valley Hotel and Spa, where she worked for the last five years.
Prior to that she ran the Carnarvon Arms in Newbury and was operations manager at the Oxford hotel.
She said: "I am absolutely delighted to be taking the reins at the Kings Head and becoming part of the local community. I'm really looking forward to building on the fantastic foundation that we have at the Kings Head as a destination for both locals and visitors alike."
Russell started her career in hospitality at the age of 16 when she took up a waitressing role in her local pub. She later went on to work in Australia and Japan.
She added: "In Japanese culture they are constantly working towards keeping their customers happy. They always go above and beyond to see a smile and that is something that has always stayed with me. I try to always share the same etiquette with my staff and encourage them to do the same."
The 45-bedroom Grade-II listed building opened in September 2014 and offers a subterranean spa and all-day dining options. It is owned by Wildmoor Properties and operated by the Vineyard Group.
