New World Trading Company's London site set for June launch
Living Ventures' New World Trading Company is to open its first London pub on 1 June on the site of the former Bank of New Zealand in Gresham Street.
The Trading House will feature a central bar, 96-cover restaurant, and a mezzanine area for drinks and events.
The drinks list will be led by ales and cocktails such as cardamom old fashioned and lemon and anise sour will sit alongside a menu of 20 gins, each with a paired tonic and its own garnish.
All of the bar team will also be trained how to make the world's top 100 cocktails.
The range of beers will include two under the New World Trading Company name - a Pacific pale ale, and "Passionate Blonde" - a cask ale.
Food on offer will include burgers, steaks and whole roasted chickens as well as "hanging kebabs" made with a choice of grilled meats, prawns or halloumi.
The new site will evoke the spirit of the East India Company as well as London's nautical heritage, and the interiors of the pub will retain much of the Grade II listed building's architectural detail and period fixtures and fittings, including dark woods, high ceilings and a spiral staircase.
The Trading House will host live music nightly and holds a late licence.
The New World Trading Company, part of Tim Bacon and Jeremy Roberts' Living Ventures, will have nine sites with the opening of the new Trading House, and also operates venues under the Smuggler's Cove, Botanist and Oast House brands.
Bacon and Roberts were joint winners of the Group Restaurateur of the Year award at the 2014 Cateys.
