The G-Mex Centre was the venue for Caterer's Opportunities 99 Manchester jobs fair last week. Some 16 companies sought recruits among the hundreds of visitors to the event.

There were jobs on offer for chefs, porters and restaurant managers, and many of the companies were offering places on management trainee schemes. In looking for suitable recruits, the companies put most emphasis on personality and having the right attitude rather than industry experience or technical skills.

Caterer runs a series of job fairs throughout the year and Opportunities 99 London is already scheduled for 27-28 September. For further details, ring Daniel Dixon on 0181-652 4807. n
