Glasgow hotel group BDL management has selected Mark Walton to be the general manager of its Express by Holiday Inn hotel, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. He joins from Holiday Inn Ashford North in Kent, where he held the same position.

Food service supplier 3663's director of marketing, Penny Moore, has been seconded to industry charity Hospitality Action to work as its director of strategy and marketing. While Moore works on the charity's strategic development and profile, Des Bill, commercial manager at 3663, will assume her role and responsibilities.

Dominic Osborne has been promoted to general manager at Ashdown Park hotel, Wych Cross, East Sussex. He was previously general
manager at the property, which he joined in 2001.

The Capital Group's management consultancy has appointed Philip Osenton as general manager, based at the British Academy of Film and Arts (Bafta) hospitality operation in Piccadilly. He joins from the now-defunct Savoy River Room restaurant, where he was restaurant manager, and will head a team of 20. James McLean has also started at the site as head chef, moving from the Flying Pig at the Stonor Arms, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, where he held the same position. The new Capital Group bar manager at Bafta is Graham Lloyd Bennett. He was previously bar manager at the Capital hotel in Knightsbridge, London, which is part of the group.

Nuria Trullen is the new sommelier at Jaan, the restaurant at the Swiss¡°tel the Howard hotel, Temple Place, London. He joins from the
Michelin-starred Lorenz Adlon restaurant at Hotel Adlon, Berlin.

Giovanni Testagrossa is the new tenant and manager of the 14th-century Crown Inn & Hotel in Blockley, Gloucestershire. Before this he ran his own hospitality consultancy, the Baron Co.

Desmond Hynes has joined the Thistle St Albans hotel in Hertfordshire as general manager. He previously had a similar role at Taplow House hotel in Buckinghamshire.t what

### move of the week Channel Islander Kevin Gauvain has joined the Devonshire Brasserie and Bar at Bolton Abbey, near Skipton, North Yorkshire, as head chef. He joins from the two-AA-rosette Mulberry Tree pub in Lancashire, where he was sous chef to chef-proprietor Mark Prescott. Before this he was head chef at the Lough Pool Inn, helping the business to gain its second AA rosette.
