Tenanted and leased pub operator Brakspear & Son, based in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, has appointed Don Bridgman as chief executive and financial director as part of a newly combined role. Bridgman joins from Bass and the Voyager Pub Group.

Calum Colquhoun has left the Macdonald Albrighton Hall hotel in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, after three years as general manager. He moves to another of the group's hotels, the four-star Dunkenhalgh in Lancashire, also as general manager.

The Crane hotel in Barbados has made a new catch with Michael Forde joining as restaurant and bar manager. He was previously restaurant manager at the island's Sandy Lane hotel.

Craig Grant is the newly appointed head of strategic planning at Chicago Rock Caf‚ owner Luminar. He joins the company from InterContinental Hotels Group, where he was head of strategic and financial planning.

Privately owned Brixton Bar & Grill in London has selected Ian Rollason as its business development manager. He joins from the 100 Pub in Clapham, London, where he was general manager. Natalie Hawthorne has also joined the venture, which opens on 31 March, as general manager. She joins from the Rapscallion bar in Clapham, where she was general manager.

Plenty of activity at Orient-Express Trains & Cruises, with Andrew Overton promoted to general manager of UK Orient-Express Trains, which runs the Northern Belle and British Pullman trains. He was previously business development manager at Northern Belle. Matthew Smith takes on the role of executive head chef of UK Orient-Express Trains, having been head chef of the production kitchen for four years, based in London. Fern Neylan has become food and beverages controller for UK Orient-Express Trains after working for British Pullman as food and beverages and operations administrator. James Humpheys , formerly an assistant train manager, is now train manager of Northern Belle.

The London Marriott West India Quay hotel, due to open in June, has appointed Ronald Fuhres as director of finance. He joins the 32-storey hotel from US hotel company Westmont Hospitality, where he was European accountant, based in Wimbledon, London. Clare Barrett has also become part of the team, taking on the position of director of revenue management. She joins from the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort in Australia, where she was front-office manager.

Adrian Grant is the new general manager of the newly opened Frankie & Benny's restaurant in Wheavers Wharf, Kidderminster, Worcestershire. He moves from the company's Great Park branch in the Rubery district of Birmingham where he had the same role.

Move of the week
Susanne Martin has been chosen as the new deputy general manager at Chilston Park hotel in Maidstone, Kent. The country house hotel is part of the 14-strong Hand Picked portfolio, and Martin joins it from the five-star Vineyard at Stockcross hotel in Berkshire, where she was front-of-house manager. She has also been general manager for Alias Hotels at its site at the Rossetti, Manchester.
