Pastry chef died from overdose

A pastry chef at London's Dorchester hotel died from a drugs overdose at his West End flat, Westminster Coroner's Court was told last week.

The court heard that Dominic Dinsdale, 30, had not been seen after leaving the family home in Spennymoor, County Durham, on 4 January.

The Dorchester rang his father on 18 January askingwhy he had not returned towork, but nothing was heard from him until his body was discovered in his London flat on 30 January.

Pathologist Dr Ian West said quantities of morphine had been found in Dinsdale's liver. He said that Dinsdale had been inhaling cocaine or heroin which had led to fatal opiate intoxication.

The coroner concluded that Dinsdale had died from non-dependant abuse of drugs.
