Peach Pubs expands into East Midlands with second Almanack
The Peach Pub Company has expanded into the East Midlands following the opening of its eleventh site, and second Almanack, in Leicester city‘s Highcross retail development.
Like its Warwickshire counterpart, the Almanack is a modern, British gastropub serving food and drink, opening for breakfast at 8am.
It is the first Peach development in a retail location and co-founder Lee Cash expects the pub to benefit from the busy shopping and entertainment complex.
"This is a brilliant site in a cracking development right in the centre of the city where we'll be able to capitalise on a ready market for all-day dining and evening drinking," he said.
"Leicester is a fantastic city and one where we felt the Almanack all-day dining concept would work well."
Peach's senior head chef and former Acorn winner Corin Earland will oversee a team of seven to provide an all-day dining service. Rob Hartwell, 2008 Acorn scholarship winner, is promoted to sous chef after four years with Peach.
