Peach takes estate to 16 with acquisition of Warwickshire pub
Peach has taken on its 16th pub, the Star & Garter in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.
Catey Pub & Bar award winners Lee Cash and Hamish Stoddart (pictured) said the pub was ripe for redevelopment. It increases the company's presence in the county to four pubs.
Peach will be working with landlord Greene King to restore the Victorian pub, creating a 54-cover eaterie with a further 54 covers in the bar. It will invest £500,000 in the project.
Peach co-founder Cash said: "We started out in Warwickshire with our first pub, the Rose & Crown, a decade ago, so it's fitting that we've come home to come of age with our latest acquisition."
"The Star & Garter has all the things we look for in a pub - a characterful building in a great residential area that needs some love and attention to make it great again. And that's just what we'll be doing."
A full all-day menu will be introduced based on the Peach approach of fresh, seasonal food sourced from ethical suppliers, and an extended range of bottled and cask beer added.
At the helm will be Peach managing partner Jez Kynaston, who also has responsibility for the Almanack in Kenilworth.
Head chef will be Tom Lilley, while Mark Timson and Matt Symmonds have been promoted from other Peach pubs to be deputy manager and bar manager respectively.
Kynaston said: "We want it to be a really smart but welcoming place where our guests will find good food and drink, and friendly service, and have a great night out as well."
