Granada continues forte shake-up

Granada's restructuring plans following its acquisition of Forte has led to two more personnel departures.

John Forte, previously director environmental services at Forte, has become a freelance consultant providing advice on health, hygiene, food safety and the environment within the industry.

Also moving to a consultancy role is Mitchell Fisher, previously managing director of purchasing and supply.

S&N adds two senior posts

Two senior appointments have been made at Scottish & Newcastle Retail.

Simon Kaye has become sales and customer service controller after a spell as general sales manager with Courage.

Mr Kaye is joined by Jeremy Blood as marketing development director. He previously worked as marketing controller.

Quality staff switch hotels

Suzanne Martin has been appointed general manager at the 95-bedroom Quality Mansion Hotel, Eastbourne, East Sussex. Ms Martin was previously general manager at the 33-bedroom Comfort Friendly Inn, Falkirk.

At the 96-bedroom Quality Clock Hotel, Welwyn, Hertfordshire, Darren Woolfenden has become general manager.

Mr Woolfenden previously managed the 55-bedroom Colchester Mill Hotel, Colchester, Essex.

Novotel managers move positions

Novotel UK has made two managerial changes.

Luc Gesvret is has become general manager of the 126-bedroom Novotel Newcastle, after running the 132-bedroom Novotel Wolverhampton. And Luisa Esposito has become general manager at the 119-bedroom Novotel Manchester West, moving from the 127-bedroom Novotel Bradford.

All change at Smollensky's

Jeremy Shepherd has become operations manager for Smollensky's Restaurants and Café Spice Namaste, all based in London. He was previously general manager at Smollensky's on the Strand.

Joining Mr Shepherd is Barry O'Flaherty, who becomes kitchen and bars administration manager from being head chef at Smollensky's on the Strand.

Promotions at Smollensky's on the Strand involve Dermot Seberry to head chef, Mark Evans to general manager, James Tolputt to assistant general manager. Jerry Marks is promoted to assistant general manager at Smollensky's Balloon Bar and Restaurant, from duty manager.
