JEREMY LEEDS has been appointed by Macdonald and Paragon Hotels to take over as general manager for Edinburgh, with responsibility for the Holyrood and Roxburghe hotels. He was managing director and general manager of the Mount Murray Hotel and Country Club on the Isle of Man.

JEAN-PIERRE ROUTIAUX has taken over as executive head chef at the restaurant ship Hispaniola at Victoria Embankment, London. He was previously a sous chef at Comme Chez Soi, a three-Michelin-starred restaurant in Brussels.

LISA HARLOW has been appointed a regional development manager for the British Institute of Innkeeping. She was previously communications manager for brewer and pub operator Marston, Thompson and Evershed, based in Burton on Trent, Staffordshire.

EDDIE FITZPATRICK has been recruited executive chef at the Celtic Manor hotel in Newport, South Wales. He was executive chef at the Hotel Arts-Ritz Carlton in Barcelona, Spain.

CHRIS VOS has been appointed general manager of the 19-bedroom Butlers Town House in Dublin. He was general manager of Humewood Castle in West Wicklow, Ireland.

FRANCESCO MIGLIONICO has joined the Hotel Inter-Continental Dubai as manager of its La Moda restaurant. He was front waiter at Vong restaurant at the Berkeley hotel, London.

ANDREW THRESH has been appointed general manager of the Village Hotel and Leisure Club which is due to open in Coventry early next year. He was previously general manager of the Westerwood Hotel Golf and Country Club in Cumbernauld, Scotland.

LESLEY WILLIAMSON has taken over as a consultant for Robert Read Associates, a food service consultancy based in Cambridge. She was general manager of catering at Durham County Cricket Club.

GEORGE WALTON PAYNE has been elected chairman of the Caribbean Tourism Organisation. He is also a minister of Tourism and International Transport for Barbados.

CHRIS BARRETT has taken on the newly created role of director of operations for contract caterer Baxter & Platts. Formerly an area manager he will now be responsible for a team of area managers in London and the South.

JULIA FORSTER has been appointed business development manager of the consortium Virgin Hotel Collection. She moves from her position of area sales manager which she has held since 1997.

SILJA MARTEINS-DOTTIR is the new business travel co-ordinator for Choice Hotels Europe. She joins Choice from Reykjavik Excursions. 150 165 160 157
