SIMON READ is the new general manager of the Vale of Glamorgan Hotel in Hensol, South Wales. He was general manager of the Copthorne Hotel in Slough/Windsor.

NEIL FORBES has left Nairn's restaurant in Glasgow, where he was head chef, to take on the role of head chef at the Atrium restaurant in Edinburgh.

KEN FLOCKHART has been made general manager of the Old Thorns hotel in Liphook, Hampshire. He was general manager of the Rex Blue Heron hotel on the Caribbean island of Antigua.

RICHARD CAMERON has taken over as chef de cuisine at Rowhill Grange hotel in Wilmington, Kent. He was executive sous chef at the One-O-One restaurant at the Sheraton Park Tower hotel in London.

METTE COOPER has joined Eton Town House Group's Colonnade Town House hotel in London as general manager. She was general manager of the Danish Club and Restaurant in London.

JULIAN PROSSER has taken on the role of head chef at Matfen Hall Country House Hotel in Matfen, Northumberland. He was head chef at the Daneswood Country House hotel in Winscombe, Avon.

PAUL ROWE has been appointed general manager of Le Friquet Country Hotel in Guernsey. He was general manager of the Art Deco Burgh Island hotel in Kingsbridge, Devon.

ANDRE BOURCIER has also arrived in Guernsey as general manager of the St Pierre Park hotel. He was Regal Hotels' area manager for the south-west, based in Exeter.

DECLAN MAXWELL has been promoted to general manager of La Stampa restaurant in Dublin. He was assistant general manager.

PETER WRIGHT, former director of environmental health at Watford District Council, has been appointed by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health to act as a liaison officer between the institute and the Food Standards Agency.

NICKY HUNT has taken over as retail manager, responsible for managed houses, at independent Kent brewer Shepherd Neame. She was a senior area manager with Bass for east Manchester.

GUNILLA ERIKSSON has been promoted to house manager at the Bonnington in Bloomsbury hotel in London. She was junior assistant manager.

GAVIN PERCY has been recruited corporate national sales manager for Best Western Hotels. He was previously a sales manager for Stakis Hotels.

AMANDA RIGGALL has joined contract caterer Aramark as operations manager for the South Wales to Swindon region. She was operations manager at the Tate Gallery restaurant.

DANUTA MUIR has been promoted to human resources director for the Hospitality Training Foundation. She was a management adviser.
