Harrison moves into Ritz rooms
Tracie Harrison has been appointed to the post of rooms executive at London's Ritz hotel, responsible for housekeeping.
Ms Harrison, who has been executive housekeeper of the Hyatt Carlton Tower since 1992, replaces Kay Clifford, who recently retired as head housekeeper after 21 years with the hotel.
Another new arrival at the Ritz is Thomas O'Connell, who has taken on the role of executive assistant manager with primary responsibility for food and beverage.
For the past five years Mr O'Connell has been the food and beverage manager of the Savoy.
Swan sales chief gets promotion
Janie Coppen-Gardner has been promoted to general manager of the Swan Diplomat hotel, Streatley-on-Thames, Berkshire.
Mrs Coppen-Gardner, sales and marketing manager for the four-star hotel for the past six years, succeeds Borge Karlsson who has now left the company.
Sandford to run Irish resort
Brendon Sandford has been named general manager of the new Radisson Roe Park hotel and golf resort, due to open in County Londonderry next June.
Mr Sandford, who was previously resident manager at St Pierre Country Club Resort, Chepstow, Gwent, takes charge of a complex that will include a 61-bedroom, four-star hotel, conference facilities, an 18-hole golf course and a golf academy.
Chef reaches new heights at George
Adam Newell has been appointed head chef at The Heights, the new restaurant on the top floor of Forte's St George's Hotel in London.
He was previously head chef at Le Poulbot restaurant, which has now closed.
The 80-seat Heights restaurant will serve modern British cuisine with lunch costing about £16 per person, and dinner about £22.
A spokeswoman for Forte said there were no plans to develop a brand based on The Heights, although this might be considered if it proved successful.
Aramark places main in Scotland
Andrew Main has been appointed divisional director for contract caterer Aramark (formerly ARA Services) in Scotland.
He succeeds Mike Collins who will be retiring from the company in December.
Mr Main was previously an operations director at Kelvin International Services, based in Aberdeen, and is a former catering development manager for Scottish & Newcastle.
Aramark's Scottish business is currently mainly offshore, but in his new role Mr Main will develop the education, healthcare, business and industry, leisure and government sectors.
Mr Collins has worked for Aramark since 1978 when it took over Ossco (the Offshore Services Company), a business formed by him in 1972.
