Hotels

David Sargent has become head chef at the Royalist Hotel in Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire. David previously worked at Marco Pierre White's Mirabelle restaurant in London. The 12-bedroom Royalist Hotel has a 36-seat restaurant.

Jaynes

Cardiff's new hotel, Holland House, has recruited Dawn Jaynes as sales and marketing manager. Dawn previously held the same role at the Marriott St Pierre Hotel and Country Club in Chepstow, Gwent.

Restaurants

The Wagamama restaurant at Mansion House, London, opened last month with Sarah Crawford as manager. Sarah joined the 185-seat resaurant from the Fleet Street Wagamama.

London's 180-seat Cinnamon Club has a new bar manager - Diego Gonzalez Garcia. Diego comes from the St Martin's Lane hotel in London, where he was head bartender at the Light Bar.

Pubs and bars

The new Varsity bar in Manchester has opened with Joelle Oliver in the driving seat as manager. She was formerly manager of Bolton's Varsity pub. Joelle's assistant is Paul Lewis, who has left his assistant manager job at the Pear Tree pub in Didsbury, Greater Manchester.

The Ultimate Leisure Group has announced some changes to the board which will take effect on 15 June. Chief executive Allan Rankin will become executive chairman, following the retirement of Jon Pither, who is currently non-executive chairman. Replacing Allan as chief executive will be Bob Senior, who is currently managing director.

Former managing director of PKF's hotel consultancy division Melvin Gold has set up his own business. Provisionally called Melvin Gold Consulting, it will provide advice for companies in the hotel sector.
