Pink Geranium chef heads to Lake District
Mark Jordan is leaving the Pink Geranium restaurant after seven years as its head chef. He joins Gilpin Lodge in the Lake District as head chef on 18 June.
Jordan has worked at the 60-seat Pink Geranium in Melbourn, Cambridgeshire, since 1995, when it had two AA rosettes, but it has held three rosettes since 1998.
He said: "I have done all I can do here, and now it is time for a fresh start. I want to move on and gain four AA rosettes."
Gilpin Lodge, in Windermere, Cumbria, holds three-rosettes for its 55-seat dining room. Jordan, who is working on new menus, said the food would be French in style and would cost £38.50 for a four-course à la carte meal, not including wine.
He said: "It will be a fantastic challenge, and I am going to make every ounce of it work."
Jordan is due to leave the kitchens of the Pink Geranium on 9 June.
