Please give me a chance

Please give me a chance

Since you printed my last letter asking the industry to help catering students in prison (Caterer, 21 December 2000) I have received a number of letters from businesses offering myself and the other inmates the chance of employment on release.

I am due for release in seven weeks and I'm hoping to gain employment. I know it won't be easy as I have a criminal record, but I have studied hard and feel I could be an asset to an employer if I was given the chance to prove that I had changed my life around.

Would anyone like to give me a chance of furthering my career? I would be grateful for any help available.

I know I've done wrong but I really want to better myself, be a credit to society and put the past behind me.

Steven Adams, HM Prison, Littlehey, Cambridgeshire.
