Premier Travel Inn in bid to raise £1m for Hospitality Action
Premier Travel Inn is bidding to raise £1m for the industry's benevolent organisation Hospitality Action.
The budget hotel chain, which has 480 properties across the UK, is introducing a new online donation scheme to allow every guest who books via its website the option of making a donation to the charity.
Elsewhere, bike rides, triathlons and a 10,000ft sponsored freefall are among the fundraising events that have already got underway at the hotels up and down the country.
Premier Travel Inn's owner Whitbread has also committed to help the fundraising effort by using its Match & Raise Scheme. This means that every team member or hotel that raises £250 or more for charity will have this doubled up to the value of £750.
Money raised will go towards supporting men, women and children who are linked to the hospitality industry but have fallen on hard times.
Patrick Demsey, Premier Travel Inn managing director said: "Hospitality Action provides an indispensable service to those who need it most from within our industry and, as the largest hotel company in the UK, Premier Travel Inn has a responsibility to give something back to its communities."
