Punch appoints Jones as strategy director
Punch Taverns has brought in hospitality industry consultant Tracy Jones in the newly created role of group strategy director.
Jones was commercial director at Unique Pub Company for five years until 2004 and has also worked for Inntrepreneur, Allied Domecq, Hilton International and Trust House Forte.
Following the £2bn sale of Unique to Enterprise Inns in 2004, Jones has run her own consultancy business providing services to Tragus Holdings and Admiral Taverns as well as Punch.
Punch chief executive Giles Thorley said: "Tracy's considerable experience and industry expertise will be a great asset in this new role, supporting the company's opportunistic and flexible approach as well as our ongoing strategic development."
The change follows the announced departure of Francis Patton, who is stepping down as customer services director in December.
Yesterday former Spirit Group director of planning Nigel Turpin began his role as corporate affairs director at Punch. He will report to Jones.
