Punch finance director to leave in March 2011

Punch Taverns finance director Phil Dutton is to leave the company next year, after stepping down from the board after the AGM on 17 December.

Dutton's official departure date is 31 March 2011, and Punch said it had begun to search for a successor and anticipates an "orderly transition".

Dutton was appointed finance director in September 2007 after previously holding the position of non-executive director of Punch. Prior to that he was finance director of Matalan, where he had been since 2002. He has also worked in various finance and IT roles at Asda, joining them in 1990.

Chief executive Ian Dyson said: "I would like to thank Phil for his contribution to Punch over the past three years during which time he played a key role as part of the board and management team. We wish him all the best for the future."
