Punch puts 1,000 pubs in to new turnaround division

Punch Taverns has revealed that its new division focused on underperforming pubs will be made up of more than 1,000 outlets, around 15% of its estate, and will be split into two regions.

The company, which last week changed its leased business from eight to four divisions, said that the ‘Turnaround Division' will be split into the North and Midlands/South, overseen by two senior operations managers.

Andy Hodgson, currently regional operations director, will become interim divisional director for the new division.

The changes form part of an overhaul of Punch's business that has also seen the announced redundancies of three senior directors.

Punch Taverns has around 7,800 pubs.
